I used my SLR all the time, I loved my Olympus OM10. Then, like lots of others I moved to a digital camera. Recently my ‘everyday’ digital point and shoot cameras screen decided to “die” and no longer work, so in essence I am shooting blind. It feels so strange not seeing instantly what you have just shot. It wasn’t until today that I realized that this is how it always used to be with my gold old friend the OM10. It’s amazing as a person (and society) how quickly we have adopted this new digital technology as the norm, casting aside the patience that is required to wait for your film to be processed and have the pictures printed.

Earlier last year, celebrated photographer Rankin briefly turned his back on the glitz and glamour and took his camera to the refugee camps of the war-torn DR Congo. See the images at Oxfam. Then check out the shots taken of the exhibition, the juxtapose images next to the Londoners is quite interesting.

I have been hit up by probably 50 photographers in the last 2 months, my name and email obviously has found it’s way onto some email list. Anyways, there has been some good sites and some poor sites, but by far this guys work is the best. I think he has a great eye for lighting and capturing the mood in the image.
