Came across the company Migros today and just love the packaging. Their corporate site shows the whole selection. The consistency, simplicity and subtle humour of the design is wonderful.

Dynamic and different sausage packaging from Russia. The comments on the site are a good read, some think it is great and others find it artificial. Personally I am in both camps, the one I feel is the most successful is the fiery design, I can almost taste the hot spicy sausage.

Happy Planet create great juices. They are a premium product which many people buy as a treat or part of a healthy diet. The label design had to strike a balance between premium and the organic healthy nature of the product. We achieved this by using clean typography with a style of wood-carved hand made illustrations.

Items designed: Juice bottle labels, water label, packaged fresh fruit labels, point of sale materials, posters, promotional clothing
Project deliverables: Art director and designer
Design company: Kaldor

Design company Turner Duckworth (clients include Amazon, Coca-Cola, Virgin Atlantic and Palm) recently designed Honey Packaging for Waitrose supermarket in the UK. “Bee or honey twizzler – whatever you see, it makes you want toast and honey” says the London and San Fransico design firm.

Simple and clever.

The Duckworth site is a little clunky, but it was interesting to read that their London and San Francisco studios collaborate on every project. “Work flows freely between each to give clients a rich and nuanced perspective from both sides of the Atlantic”.

On the Waitrose site there is a value added page about their Scottish heather honey, an interesting read.

From time to time I visit the site Lovely Package. Today I was delighted to see someone doing something different with egg packaging. Designer Si Thorpe designed the packaging for an ethically minded egg company, who specialize in organic, free range and traceable eggs. I would buy this product just for the packaging. The product design and the type are very sexy indeed.
