To the FAQ question on their website: Are children welcome at Fou Zoo restaurant they replied: “Children are the purpose of life and we will be very pleased if you visit our restaurant with them. Feel free to ask our staff for special chairs or special menus for children. They will be willing to advise you.” They could have just said ‘yes’, but they went a step further to make children feel even more welcome.

I think this is a fantastic and intelligent ad. The Vancouver Police get lots of strange and wonderful calls. The purpose of this ad campaign was to ask people to be sure about what they are seeing and also educating them on what type of calls are appropriate for the police. The headline reads “Report the suspicious, not the strange”. On the left of the ad is a guy graffitiing the wall with the words ‘call us’ above it. On the right is a picture of Elvis formed in the lamp light with the words ‘call a reporter’. Brilliant.

History of Life Savers

I just read the fascination history of the Life Saver candy. I love how the hole in the mint was a manufacturing mistake in the initial prototype but the manufacturer really liked it as it reminded him of a mini life saver. Read the whole story.

Beautiful new packaging design by Jamie Oliver. The line is called JME (as in Jamie) and uses fun and play as the underlining theme to the packaging and products names.

Samurai Umbrella

Saw a girl in the mall today with what looked like a Samurai Sword strapped to her back, no surprise it caught my attention. As she went by I had to glance back to make sure I wasn’t loosing it. It wasn’t a sword but in fact a Samurai Umbrella.
