The cost of shopping
I don’t mind spending money at shops. Actually I’m rather talented at it! However, I object STRONGLY to having to pay for parking to shop somewhere.
For example, London Drugs on Broadway in Vancouver has always charged for you to park in their car park. This irritates me, but at least they would always validate the ticket and refund the amount within the store. I may not like it, but I do understand the whole ‘charging for parking’ situation. It prevents people freeloading and parking there all day for free. It’s also a brilliant business strategy as I would presume a large percentage of people forget to validate their ticket. ‘Oh look, a new source of revenue’.
Well, London Drugs now no longer validate your ticket. In essence they are charging you to shop there! I strongly object to this policy.
In a city where their competitor is less than a block away, charging for parking is very short-sighted as a business decision.
I will not be returning to that location in the future.
“Bye Bye London Drugs, Hello Save-On”.
