Jakes Construction

Submitted by Samyciawood on Sunday, 20 September 2009

Jakes Construction is an independent and loyal resident of the Fraser Valley in British Columbia. We chose to avoid a logo mark concentrating on the elements of the valley (mountains, rivers, sun) and instead focused on the strengths and qualities of the company.

The larger ‘J’ at the beginning of the word mark communicates confidence and large construction. The ‘A’ is an upward arrow and a road (reflecting one of the service offerings). The ‘E’ is a step, heading towards success. It also reflects the weights grounding the heavy machinery and the down to earth approach of the company.

The heavy black used through out the design is confident and is offset with a warmer yellow to reflect the working relationship and personality of the company.

Project deliverables: Identity, stationery, business forms, promotional clothing, signage. vehicle graphics, website
Role: Art director & designer
Design company: Industrial Brand
