District – South Main

Submitted by Samyciawood on Sunday, 20 September 2009

District, South Main is a real estate development just off Main Street on 7th Avenue. Main Street is an interesting neighborhood mixing the new and modern with the artistic and ‘eccentric’.

The developer, Amacon, had not built in this type of neighborhood and came to us as we were local to Main Street and knew the atmosphere well.

It was critical throughout the project to create a brand and use visual materials that were true to Main Street and that did not imitate all the regular generic real estate development brands.

We created the name District to reflect not just the physical area but also the people who give the area soul and character. The branded materials were modern and artsy but were kept intentionally clean and modern to reflect the product that we were selling.

Our efforts, coupled with great pricing and adventurous marketing by Mac Marketing, resulted in 94% of the units selling on the initial day of sales. This in a market that has suffered heavily with the recent recession was a huge success.

Project deliverables:
Identity, brochure, floorplans, advertising, presentation centre signage and bill boards, presentation centre interior graphics, V.I.P. invitation
Role: Art director and designer
Design company: Industrial Brand
